After a wildly successful first outdoor COVID-conscious art exhibition on the roof of a parking garage, the High Beams crew is at it again. This time, the curatorial collection of mostly Bendix Building art spaces creates a walk-through exhibition in the Gallery ALSO parking lot on Halloween night.

Among the exhibits are a spooky mini golf course, wild performances, and haunting projections. The theme: The dead tell no tales. Prizes are given out for the best costumes that enforce social distancing!

“The impromptu group that formed to create an art show on the roof of a parking garage in September weren’t ready to say ‘Uncle,’ ” said Alanna Marcelletti, a curator from the Durden and Ray collective in the Bendix Building. “It has been such an exciting experience to create a show that anyone can see safely, and to do it with an amazing mix of curators from different artistic backgrounds and curatorial initiatives.

“The artists have gone above and beyond to come up with creative ideas to manifest this fun-house-style art experience.”

The Dead Tell No Tales demonstrates how the limitations of a particular moment become productive conditions for exhibition-making. The project transforms an ordinary parking lot into an environment where contemporary art, performance, Halloween spectacle, and collective experience converge.
